We loved this real estate from the first day we saw it. We thought that eventually Arby’s might leave the property, so we contacted the owner—an investor out of Utah—and while initially he didn’t want to sell, we didn’t let up. A year and a half later we structured a redevelopment deal that worked for the both of us. Then, as expected, Arby’s then decided not to exercise its option to re-lease which gave us the perfect site for Eegee’s which was growing into the Phoenix metro area.
